Officially, MIDI stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, and it was invented in 1982. These days, it refers to three components:

1. A physical connector between electronic instruments and between electronic instruments and a MIDI controller, usually a keyboard. The connector takes the form of MIDI IN and MIDI OUT jacks form which MIDI cables can bet plugged into any electronic instruments (and you’d be surprised at how much music hardware out there today is MIDI-capable almost every detachable keyboard is!)

2. A message format this message format is the heart of MIDI. This format is made up not of the sounds themselves, but simply the commands that are issued by the MIDI keyboard to the electronic instruments telling them how to play a given song (play the violin turn down the volume to XX, adjust the pitch to YY, etc.)

With the above two components, a musician was able to control a string of musical instruments from a single keyboard, giving him a one-man band effect.

3. A storage format in other words, MIDI files. This latecomer of the MIDI trinity was what really did the trick because it allowed musicians to record their creations and tweak them on many different parameters until they got it sounding just they way they wanted it. Without this, MIDI songs could not be played back, because since MIDI commands include only the instructions to the instrument on how to play the song and not the actual music itself, they cannot be recorded in audio format. Now MIDI files can be recorded, emailed, or even downloaded from the Internet.

A MIDI studio can now be produced in two ways via hardware or software. The hardware version involves connecting a keyboard (using MIDI cables) to the MIDI jack of an electronic instrument and then stringing together up to 16 of these instruments in a daisy chain by way of their MIDI IN and MIDI OUT jacks. The software version keeps the MIDI keyboard (or other MIDI controller such as a MIDI guitar, etc.), while the instruments appear in virtual form on a computer screen (various software programs such as Reason, Logic, and Cubase can do this).

The balance sheet of a business is always segregated into assets and liabilities. Every business has its own set of liabilities and assets. The assets that a company owns are of great value to the organisation. After all, it is these assets that determine the value of the business. A company owns various assets both tangible and intangible. While the tangible ones include the land, property, bank accounts, shares and the like; the goodwill and the reputation make for the intangible ones.

For their sheer usefulness, these promotional items are perceived as thoughtful gifts. Instrumental Music in Public Worship: History Surrounding the Westminster Assembly

FROM: “INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC IN THE PUBLIC WORSHIP OF THE CHURCH”

By John L. Girardeau (Still Waters Revival Books, [1888] 2000), pp. 132, 133.

Before the Westminster Assembly of Divines undertook the office of preparing a Directory of Worship, the Parliament had authoritatively adopted measures looking to the removal of organs, along with other remains of Popery, from the churches of England. On the 20th of May, 1644, the commissioners from Scotland wrote to the General Assembly of their church and made the following statement among others: “We cannot but admire the good hand of God in the great things done here already, particularly that the covenant, the foundation of the whole work, is taken, Prelacy and the whole train thereof extirpated, the service-book in many places forsaken, plain and powerful preaching set up, many colleges in Cambridge provided with such ministers as are most zealous of the best reformation, altars removed, the communion in some places given at the table with sitting, THE GREAT ORGANS AT PAUL’S AND PETER’S IN WESTMINSTER TAKEN DOWN (emphasis added), images and many other monuments of idolatry defaced and abolished, the Chapel Royal at Whitehall purged and reformed; and all by authority, in a quiet manner, at noon-day, without tumult.”1 So thorough was the work of removing organs that the “Encyclopaedia Britannica” says that “at the Revolution most of the organs in England had been destroyed.”2

When, therefore, the Assembly addressed itself to the task of framing a Directory for Worship, it found itself confronted by a condition of the churches of Great Britain in which the singing of psalms without instrumental accompaniment almost universally prevailed. In prescribing, consequently, the singing of psalms without making any allusion to the restoration of instrumental music, it must, in all fairness, be construed to specify the simple singing of praise as a part of public worship. The question, moreover, is settled by the consideration that had any debate occurred as to the propriety of allowing the use of instrumental music, the Scottish commissioners would have vehemently and uncompromisingly opposed that measure. But Lightfoot, who was a member of the Assembly, in his “Journal of its Proceedings”3 tells us: “This morning we fell upon the Directory for singing of psalms; and, in a short time, we finished it.” He says that the only point upon which the Scottish commissioners had some discussion was the reading of the Psalms line by line.

Rhythm and blues is a variety of related but different types of music combined in to one. We will discuss some information on rhythm and blues and the main instruments that are commonly used in this type of music.

The most common types of instruments used in this type of music is a drum set, bass, a piano (an organ can often be used instead of the piano), and the guitar, while the horn section features saxophones, trumpets, and sometimes trombones. The importance on horns in most styles of this type of music has been one of the ways in which the music
has been historically recognized differently to that of white rock music.

What is musical instruments used in rhythm and blues known as

Today, rhythm and blues has become known as R&B and many black Americans have taken a major interest in this type of music. Rhythm and blues has gone more towards rap than the old style; many songs are now released that are classed as R&B when they are mostly rap. However they often do have a R&B melody in the background, but, it is no where near the same as this type of music once was.

Musical instruments used in rhythm and blues today

Today, the rhythm and blues style of music is ruling the musical scene once again. In the past has it has experienced several peaks of popularity, but, it normally dies out for a while after each peak. The 1950s are classed as a peak point for rhythm and blues; however, in the early 1960s it was replaced and died in popularity due to the huge popularity of soul music.

The popularity of musical instruments used in rhythm and blues

In the early 1980s, rhythm and blues peaked in popularity again, ruling the music industry alongside disco. The music then died out again. Recently, the music has become popular again with artists like Black eyed Peas, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, and other famous artists. If you trace the music style back over the decades, you will find it has had its peaks in popularity over the many decades, starting from the early 1950s.

From 2000 in to 2007, this style of music has been ruling the charts, maybe we will see a die in this type of music, however, with the current trends, and the way society is today, this music will likely continue to soar over in to the next decade. Only time will tell which type of music will rule the industry in the next few decades. This summarizes our musical instruments used in rhythm and blues article.

America’s morning was good indeed as Miley Cyrus treated her fans with a liver performance as Hannah Montana on Good Morning America. Hannah Montana is the popular teen rock star leading a double life on the hit Disney Channel original series of the same name. This was one leg of her Summer Concert Series in which the fourteen year old Cyrus performed for the New York crowd at Bryant Park for free. She not only brought smiles to her fans’ faces because of her performance but also because of her announcement of her upcoming 54-city tour this Fall.

Cyrus’ tour will be kicking off on October 18 in St. Louis, and will be featuring songs from her album which was released today. The new album is comprised of two discs–the first CD being Hannah Montana’s second collection of songs while the second CD being Miley Cyrus’ debut album as herself. The first Hannah Montana CD, which was released in October 2006, debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200 chart, making it the first soundtrack to do that, and has now reached triple platinum in sales.

Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, her father, was responsible for making “Miley” her nickname. He gave her that nickname, which was short for “smiley”, when she was a child because she was always smiling. Miley’s real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus. She continues to flash that smile in Hannah Montana, where Billy Ray plays her father. Last Sunday, the show’s double-episode featured the return of Jake Ryan (played by Cody Linley), Hannah’s boyfriend, from his four month stint in Romania, where he was filming a movie. Before he left, his scenes with Miley were filled with kisses, and so are scenes of his return. They also revealed secrets to each other, such as that Jake’s real first name is Leslie and that Miley is really Hannah Montana. Jake was able to handle her secret well, and as soon as he got used to it, they continued dating. However, being in the spotlight made Jake act obnoxious, so Miley decided to let him go. In the end, he sent her a red rose with a note apologizing for his behavior. He also admitted that he still needed to grow as a person and that he would, no doubt, keep her secret.

A whole lot of people in Australia were really looking forward to seeing Whitney Houston in concert just recently. It had been a long time, over 20 years, since she was there and they still love her. There were tons of ticket purchased for what was supposed to be a big blockbuster stage performance . This tour was called the Nothing But Love Tour, but it was not love that all of her loyal fans were feeling after seeing this disappointment.

It is common knowledge all the issues that she has had in life for the past 2 decades. All of the escapades between her and her famous husband were always splashed across the news releases. And everybody that knows of her knows about the drug abuse issues too. It wasn’t that she didn’t seem to be trying to do her best for this concert, it seemed that she just didn’t have it in her.

She seemed to make it through just the first 2 songs before things started to go bad. Only two songs and then she has to take a break and let her brother and the rest of the band take over for a while. So while she was nowhere to be seen they plated a few of her well known tunes to keep the crowd occupied.

After a while she came back on stage and tried to make it through the beautiful song that she is so well known for, I Will Always Love You. She had to stop partway through to apparently sooth her self with water and the way she sang the song was very throaty rather than the incredible way she sung it before. This was just too much for many of the people in attendance and plenty of them left well before the concert was over. There were a lot of questions, considering her past, about her health and habits. Her promoter blamed it all on the fact that she is a lot older now and is not able to hit the notes as well as she could when she was younger. He claimed there were no health issues worth mentioning.

Of course, he will stand behind the performance; after all he doesn’t wish to issue refunds to unhappy concert goers. However, due to the fact that she didn’t sing for about half the concert and sang poorly for the other half, there really should be some compensation offered to those who traveled to Brisbane after all these years, just to hear her perform. And perhaps if she is not up to the concert circuit, they should just keep fans happy by cutting new albums, leaving the live performances to those who are up to the task.

An international opera singer is making an injury claim over an incident which he says has ruined his career.

According to a report in the Bournemouth Echo, David Montague-Rendall was performing at the newly built Copenhagen Opera House when part of the two-tier set collapsed on him.

The venue, which opened in 2005 and is the national opera house of Denmark, is one of the most modern buildings of its kind and is located on the island of Holmen.

Mr Montague-Rendall tumbled around 15 feet and sustained serious injuries as a result. His left hip was shattered and both his shoulders were damaged.

Consequently, he is seeking accident compensation for his suffering and loss of earnings.

According to the performer, he is owed around 250,000 for his lack of income since the incident occurred.

The 61-year-old said bookings have dried up because opera companies doubt his ability to achieve the same high standards and his last performance was two years ago.

He is making his injury claim against the Danish Ministry of Culture.

Mr Montague-Rendall remarked: “During the performance two stage levels were raised to give the impression that I was underground in a tomb. “On the night in question, the stage above went sideways instead of up, resulting in the destruction of the set. “I was knocked down at least 15 feet and tried to crawl to safety to avoid being crushed.”

The legal experts seeking accident compensation on his behalf pointed out he has had to sell his house since he stopped performing.

They added that, while the Danish Ministry of Culture has admitted liability for the suffering caused by the collapse, it has not accepted the extent of the damage.

His case continues against the organisation and his lawyers noted they will carry on with their fight for justice.
