Gangster rap was ubiquitous in the mid 90s. Gangster rappers like Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and more were most known for perpetuating rivalries with their gritty gangster raps. Saying Psychopathic Records group ICP is a gang is wrong on many levels, but lets start with the reason that they are not because ICP sounds nothing like any of these gangster rappers.

Fast forward 15 or so years. Where has the gangster rap gone? Its certainly not in the mainstream. Today, our billboard charts are loaded with R&B and other Pop genres. Very rarely has there been a chart topping mainstream rap song in recent memory to epitomize the true meaning of gangster rap.

However, that hasnt stopped culturally out-of-touch government agencies like the FBI to label other rappers as gangster rappers in gangs. Yes, believe it or not, the FBI sincerely believes that Psychopathic Records horror rap juggernaut Insane Clown Posse and their fan base are part of one not so elaborate gang.

Do you think Psychopathic Records artist ICP is a gang? If youre a Juggalo, obviously not. You know better. But if youre new to the topic, its ok to be a little unsure. Continue reading to see why the FBI is wrong in thinking that ICP is a gang.

First of all, if ICP is a gang than theyre the smallest gang there ever was, because the ICP “gang” consists of 2 people: Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. Who the FBI were trying to accuse of being part of a gang are ICPs fan base, the Juggalos, who also enjoy music by other Psychopathic Records artists.

However, that said, theres still no way that a network as large as the Juggalos could be a functioning gang. Not only do they not listen to gangster rap, but saying Juggalos are a gang would be like saying teenagers are a gang.

Psychopathic Records may spawn some interesting artists whose lyrical content is focused on morbid topics like murder and suicide, but they are never serious. Furthermore, these Psychopathic Records who jokingly rap about these topics never include any gangster rap ideology in their lyrics.

Additionally, if a Juggalo did commit murder after listening to a song performed by a Psychopathic Records artist, it would be impossible to prove that a powerful ICP “gang” provided any motivation, especially because the band themselves is clearly not a gang.

The funniest accusation in the FBIs report is that the ICP “gang” communicates via social media, and are especially suspicious because they are transient by nature. The FBI could have answered their own question here the fact that Juggalos are “transient” really just means that they are normal people who move about and are not confined to one particular geographic area.

Saying ICP is a gang with Juggalo members would be no different than claiming that Nirvana and its fans were one giant gang in the early 90s!

The first question is what type of singer do you want to hire? You may have seen a singer previously and if youre lucky be able to find their phone number just when you need it. Or you may not be able to find their contact details and need to start a search afresh.

Do you want an all rounder with a wide repertoire for a wedding or a Soul Singer or maybe a Rat Pack Singer or even an Opera Singer?

Once you have decided the type of singer you would like, you will need to start sifting through websites, videos or song samples; to see who you like best. Maybe you will have to wait for CDs through the post or for an e mail with song samples attached.

Next comes the singers repertoire, is it extensive or limited, can you choose some of the songs they sing, will they provide lighting and equipment, how long will they sing, what is their fee and are they available? Will they sound as good live as on their song samples, are they reliable, can they be contacted easily or must you wait several days or weeks?

This type of selection process will need to be repeated for each singer you consider and without specialist working knowledge of individual singers can be daunting.

Alternatively, a reputable Entertainment Agency can either locate a particular singer or help you choose the right singer at an affordable cost.

They will have first hand knowledge of many singers, their professional experience, talent, vocal range, repertoire and reputation. They will have helped many Clients before you to choose the right singer and know how to get the best service from them.

They may wait for someone to send a talented individual their way before they will even consider signing with them. Every record label will do things differently.

There are many singers and songs that are great but they never make it in the industry because they were showcased at the wrong time or because nobody knew about them. It is important to have the timing right on the release of songs because there will be many songs released all year long. A record label will be able to promote these songs and give the artist a chance but the artist has to impress the record label first.

Unsigned artists have to work hard to get noticed and if they are able to get assistance from posting their videos of them performing their songs, it will help them tremendously. There are many different kinds of music and different types of performers. Some people are excellent singers and songwriters but are unable to perform in front of an audience.

Record labels that are looking for artists will look at everything. They may be able to have the artists write songs for their current artists or sign a contract with the singer and songwriter which has the potential to make them famous. There are many opportunities out there if people know where to find them.

Not all of the singers and songs are going to be famous. Someone may spend several years writing and singing before they are even noticed. Other people may get a break with their first song but it does not mean they will make it big.

Before your child engages in the playing of any wind instrument, a New York orthodontist advises the parents to first talk to the dentist. The dentist points out that a number of dental problems come as a result of playing certain kinds of instruments. In one report he wrote for the Journal of the American Dental Association, he pointed out that millions of kids living in America are either playing an instrument they chose to play or are playing an instrument which was just carelessly picked out for them.

The children would see then that they were just not meant to play certain instruments because it does not fit them dentally or temperamentally. Would be musicians would then find themselves only able to play the instrument with a certain degree of skill without being particularly good at it. Any good dentist who is concerned about the service he gives to his patients must let would be musicians, music teachers, and parents know that potential problems in dentistry are related to musical instruments.

Before pursuing a musical instrument, it is advised that children and parents first seek advice from a dentist. There are a lot of dentists who claim that single reed instruments are usually to blame for cases of body tissue illnesses experienced by wind instrumentalists. The lower lip is supported by the teeth, and unfortunately it is also here that a lot of weight from the instrument is applied. The affected bone area does not receive enough blood when continued pressure is placed on the teeth.

The outward pressure that may be unintentionally exerted from the muscles of the jaw may force itself against the upper teeth and harm the alignment of the teeth. The upper and lower teeth experience pressure from the lips when brass instruments such as the trombone and horns are played. Extended periods of playing these instruments may lead to unnecessary movement or mobility of teeth. Those with irregular or sharp front teeth may experience pain on their lips when they play the oboe while those with short upper lips would have a difficult time playing the flute.

There are also certain string instruments that create potentially serious dental problems. He said previous studies have shown that continuous violin playing causes much pressure on the jaw, especially the part which holds the violin against the shoulder, and this may lead to a faulty bite in some people. An oral examination for those who want to play musical instruments is recommended so that possible dental problems can be avoided. Would be musicians would not have to worry too much about dental suitability and musical handicap so long as proper early recommendations are given.

Complications in life can be avoided by getting early checkups in life. Before playing wind instruments is one such case where seeing a dentist beforehand is a must. In closing, whatever you do or want to do, see a dentist first.

The Concert of Europe Did It Ensure Peace?

By the time Napoleon had been exiled to St. Helena in 1815, Europe had been at war almost perpetually since 1792.

Napoleons conquests had spread the doctrines of liberalism and nationalism through most of Europe, leading to the overthrow of several monarchies.
The victors of the Napoleonic Wars wanted to restore Europe to the status quo that existed before 1789, reversing the liberal and nationalistic doctrines spread by Napoleons armies.

For a time, the Concert of Europe achieved some success. In Spain (1820) and in Italy (1822), it crushed rebellions that were intent on establishing constitutional governments. Both of these outcomes enhanced the Concerts prestige, as it demonstrated its capacity to enforce the territorial settlements of the Congress of Vienna.

However, in the longer term, the Concert of Europes early successes faded as the unified coalition against Napoleon was replaced by increasing political and economic discord within the group. When revolutions broke out in South America during the 1820s, Great Britain refused to support action against the Spanish colonies. She was afraid that, if the rebellions were ended by force, it would lose profitable trading opportunities with Spain.

In the end this division within the Concert of Europe became moot as the United States issued the Monroe Doctrine in 1823. The Doctrine permitted European Powers to keep their existing colonies in the New World. However, it clearly stated that the establishment of new colonies or military intervention in the Americas would be seen as acts of aggression, which would be met by US intervention.

More significantly, diverging national interests led to a series of conflicts between the members of the Concert. Britain went to war with Russia (1853-1856), Prussia went to war against Austria (1866) and Prussia defeated France in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871).

Despite these failures, the Concert of Europe (also known as the Congress System) did achieve some successes. Through the Congress of Berlin (1878), the Concert of Europe completed the reorganization of the various Balkan states. Romania, Serbia and Montenegro all gained full independence while Austria-Hungary gained control over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the surface, the Congress of Berlin appeared to stabilize Europe. However, Austrias control over Bosnia and Herzegovina provoked tension with Russian nationalists who saw both countries as lying within Russias sphere of influence. Because Germany was now so closely aligned with Austrian interests in the Balkans, it also became the object of intense animosity from Russian nationalists and supporters of Pan Slavism.

In the end, the Concert of Europe failed to ensure long term peace. In the several years preceding World War I, it effectively ceased to function, replaced by a series of competing alliances. These opposing alliances contributed significantly to the onset of World War I.

VOICEOVER ARTIST RADIO STATION IMAGING
by David Kaye

I do a lot of radio imaging.

Many people call it “Radio Station Imaging,” or as I like to call it, “Promotional Branding and Station Identification.”

In this realm of the business, it is important to make sure that you’re set up as a proper company, that you’re a business. It is not a fly-by-night deal by any stretch of the imagination.

You’d better have the equipment. You’d better be prepared to work a lot and take care of your voice, because radio stations like to use you a lot.

In a contract, traditionally you’re committed to recording a page or two a month, whatever your agent negotiates, or whatever you negotiate for yourself. They’ll stretch that out. They’ll try to get as much as they possibly can out of a page. So radio station voice imaging is little bits and pieces and stuff and there is a page and stuff.

Typically, on a Monday or Friday a bulk of stuff will come in. That’s just the nature of the business.

The business has changed over the years, especially because of the Internet. There’s not as much money flowing around as it used to be. Some of the big companies are changing hands. We all know how that’s gone. The economy is different. But stations are still spending money on station voices. They are still going out and searching for them.

When someone listens to the radio station, in their head they’re hearing the imaging person the voice as the owner. If you’re hired to be the voice of a radio station, you’re that station’s identifier. You represent that station. It is a big responsibility. It’s not just, “You know, I do the voice.” No, that’s the sound of the station. So think of yourself as the radio station’s boss.

So if you’re going to be voicing stuff for radio stations, note that, first of all, the business has changed. There are even more opportunites now because there is satellite radio. There still are revenue stream issues, but if you want to get into it there is places you can put your voice. There are Internet radio stations.

You can do a lot of marketing on your own on the Internet to radio and TV stations. But be prepared to be a business. You’re a businessman. They want to hire you. They want you available. They want you versatile, and there is a certain style you need to keep in mind.

There are perimeters to being a radio imaging voice. So that means listening to what’s out there now, listening to what’s out there in the past, and maybe developing your own style…but within the perimeters. You’re selling the station. You are the station’s voice. That’s a big responsibility.
